Among the important missions undertaken by the Vancouver crew were towing a space station, calibrating the Dyson sphere, and traveling back in time to kill a person worse than Adolf Hitler.

In 2381, the Cerritos was assigned to support the Vancouver during Captain Nguyen s postwar trade negotiations with the Karemma. At the last minute, the Vancouver was rerouted to the Hasparga system to evacuate a colony that was being threatened by a brown hole, forcing Cerritos Captain Carol Freeman to conduct the negotiations, without the benefit of the months of preparation time Nguyen had.
